New to this site and returning to the joy of raising chickens...

Hi, from South Carolina,
I had chickens as a boy, mainly for pets, but always loved the experience of taking care of them and watching the life cycle repeat itself. I grew up, went to the University of South Carolina and took another path that hasn't allowed me to have these quirky little creatures. I've just retired and I am now in a place to have them again, but I really don't know where to begin. Luckily, I found this site and can't wait to build my first coop and start over with chickens after many years. I'm looking forward to getting advice and guidance from experienced chicken lovers.
