Just ordered the Chickens I wanted (3 Barred Rocks) after researching, those were the ones that fit my need the best - Dual purpose, large size, good producers of large eggs, very friendly, hot or cold climate...just seemed like a good all-around chicken)
Last Kid is going off to college soon, so don't need a large flock...I do however want a rooster, but only if I can get it so it doesn't crow loud do to my location in city limits (I know there is some back and forth on this subject)
It would be nice to be able to produce chickens if the need arose as my primary purpose to have one.
Currently in the process of designing the coop, hope to start to build this weekend. the premade ones I find are either poor quality junk that will fall apart in one season, especially in Oklahoma weather ..... or they are waaay over-priced, especially when it's only for 3 chickens...maybe 5 in the future.
I doubt I will be on here much other to search for answers to questions
