As for the coop, you cannot imagine how fast these chicks are going to grow from here on out. They will soon be flying out of those boxes unless you have wire or netting across the top.
For 8 birds, you need a bare minimum of 32 sf inside the coop itself, and and additional 80 sf in the run. I recommend going much bigger. Chickens thrive in large spaces, and tend to pick and fight in small ones.
