(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I received my first chicks April of 2023.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I have 15 hens, 5 14 week old pullets, and 15 chicks I just recently purchased.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Rhode Island Red, Buff Orpington, Barred Rock, White Leghorn, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Light Brahma, Sapphire Splash, and some assorted Cochin Bantams.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I have learned a lot this past year+. I love watching them grow and just watching them in general. I like feeding them scraps from my household, my neighbors, and parents. I enjoy supplying my family and friends with farm fresh eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Fishing, hunting, hanging out with friends and family, and enjoying the outdoors.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have a big extended family which I hangout with quite often. I’m getting a kitten soon to help with mice around my very small hobby farm. I’ve been an electrician for 13 years.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC on Facebook, have known about it since April of 2023 which I believe was when I joined the Facebook group, and I decided to join the official site after I purchased more chicks yesterday evening.
