Just got back from the auction with these new, lovely turkeys. Bourbon red tom, bourbon red hen, and ??? tom!!!

I thought it would be bigger; it is the same size as the chicken eggs in the incubator.

oh really? I am not sure about Turkeys, we will be getting ours next year. I would think they would be bigger. Maybe it is stress from the auction and moving to their new home? I hope this will bump the post and someone with Turkeys will reply too.

Keep them penned up (quarantined) for a month. Check them over for external parasites and keep an eye on the droppings. (L-R: Royal Palm turkey hen egg//Black Sex link `cock egg'//Black Sex Link hen standard size//store bought pullet egg). Bourbon egg can be just a bit larger than the RP hen eggs)

Gamebird Layena will come in handy (these guys can get pretty set in their ways about what they'll eat - if you usually use pelleted feed and they've been getting crumbles you might have to do a bit of crushing to get them started). Enjoy your turkeys (don't get too upset if the boys spar - they usually work things out without too much bloodshed).
