Another Question at the bottom...

So far, alls going good. I still see veins in the egg, and since the baby that was

already dead still had yolk attached, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a while with

these chicks. I see the membrane going from see through, to pearly white, and

it was drying out, so I wrapped them in another damp paper towel.. I didn't want

to open the bator, but I am getting really low on water, and it'll take me a while

to move the eggs off the water trough to add water.. Are the three damp paper

towels good enough? Or would you add more water? I just didn't want to have

the lid open long, and it will be if I add more water.

So today they are the same as they were. No progress, and not as vocal as yesterday.

Since they were shrink wrapped, and they seem to keep drying out, is it OK to give them

a bit of help? Mybe peel back a bit and let them get out? I do not see any more veins, and

I don't know how long they've actually been pipped, as when I got to them they were already

like this.. Any input is appreciated.

It looks like this has been going on for a few days now so I would definately interfere now. They may just be losing their strenght. That is what I had to do with mine and they all made it.

Thankyou so much.

I zipped around the egg with a sterile pair of tweasers, and moistened the membrane.

I didn't get far, but I can see his face now, rather than just the tip of the beak,

I put him back in the 'bator for now to warm up, as i had him out for about 15 minutes.

Whew... This is stressful..

I would go ahead and get the survivors under a heat lamp asap. They will not dry well in the incubator IMHO. Good luck! Mine took 48hrs to fully come around after a hatch gone bad. Love the wrap around the chicken. Not sure if it will work or not but sure hope so.
