WOW, that really pops! The 2 diff red checks I never would have guessed to use them together! The whole block is outstanding, yah you!

I got 2 quilt books at the used bookstore last week and I'm thinking to pick one of the star blocks I like from them, it won't be paper pieced.
Likely an Ohio star variation. I think I'll play around & make 2-3 diff. ones as I have enough fabric to do that then pic. my fav. to make the 12 for the swap. I'll post pics when I get to this a couple weeks...

Meanwhile, I am buying (got a deal) 2 SFH juvies, 1 (cross our fingers) a Roo so in spring I'll hope hope hopefully be overrun w/ flower babies
DH fixed the large coop/pen so it is really nice for wintering now (sigh of relief on that)
& my (hates poultry) DH has found a barely used coop available free from friend of friend who is moving soooo, I may also have just worked out to get a couple more Cream Legbars to put into said coop. Still a little up in the air on that one, but will know next week. That would really round out my breeding space, I'd have 4 main breeds then (H.Buckeye, H BR, SFH & CL ) plus a doz mutt EEs layers & 3 hatchery hens who have been teaching my current CL Roo "Prince" to be Charming ;P anyway, I'm really excited that things are looking up in the chicken world here, hope everyone has fresh eggs this week!

Very nice, the fabrics are awesome, love the blue marbley one and the multicolor w/ the snake skin look.

@Kassandra, that one is actually tiny petals that change color depending on which color they are on top of,but mostly gold. My DH has decided that this is the fabric that he wants His quilt out of, so I need to buy more of it before it's gone.

The next one is a variation on the rail fence that you suggested at the first. My hope is that if I stay to the simple blocks and do them as well as I can, I will learn, and everyone will still be glad to get my blocks.
