My newer CL roo who has MASSIVE comb & waddle got frostbite. It is the 1st/only time I've ever seen it, so I don't know how bad it will turn out,the comb doesn't looks so bad, but the waddles have a blue line through them in the center (not the edge which is weird but looks like several pic I've seen on BYC so guess it is what happens). Meanwhile all 3 of his chicks hatched (w/ help, temp & humidity issues w/ this hatch of course). I have 7 of 10 eggs set now as chicks. most assisted, 2 which look they they need booties to fix feet too long in the shells. The rest even those I assisted are looking vigorous so w/ my 2 from NYDH I now have 1 pure CL, & 8 50%CL chicks making a mess in a temp brooder in my room (sewing area) which is warmer than the normal laundry room location for new chicks & w/ wind chills to -15 that really mattered!
Tomorrow I'll be cleaning all this hatch related stuff up , moving the final 2 chicks out of the hatcher, bigger brooder for everyone (laundry room) etc.
and then it is BLOCK BLOCKS BLOCKS!
