New Year Block swap

I have my tree ready to press on but decided to wait to see what her next one will look like before I go that far. I had thought to put some far Mt's. behind it because I live in the foothills of the Blue Mt's. looked good but lost the shilloutte factor then, tic toc, tic toc, just waiting.

yeah I should have just left mine without the sun etc, I really liked how those leaves came out, well I have another made but to me not as good as the first, oh well live and learn

My newer CL roo who has MASSIVE comb & waddle got frostbite. It is the 1st/only time I've ever seen it, so I don't know how bad it will turn out,the comb doesn't looks so bad, but the waddles have a blue line through them in the center (not the edge which is weird but looks like several pic I've seen on BYC so guess it is what happens). Meanwhile all 3 of his chicks hatched (w/ help, temp & humidity issues w/ this hatch of course). I have 7 of 10 eggs set now as chicks. most assisted, 2 which look they they need booties to fix feet too long in the shells. The rest even those I assisted are looking vigorous so w/ my 2 from NYDH I now have 1 pure CL, & 8 50%CL chicks making a mess in a temp brooder in my room (sewing area) which is warmer than the normal laundry room location for new chicks & w/ wind chills to -15 that really mattered!

Tomorrow I'll be cleaning all this hatch related stuff up , moving the final 2 chicks out of the hatcher, bigger brooder for everyone (laundry room) etc.

and then it is BLOCK BLOCKS BLOCKS!

Mary has finished her blocks! She's a good girl! Mine will be done by Monday so will get in post then. Today we are going to take my super kingsize quilt to the long arm quilter we know in the next county. after we have dropped the quilt off we are going on to a town called Melton Mowbary which is famous for its pork pies.
I still havnt started the mug rug because I have about a million ideas running around my head, will have to settle on one soon!

Stopped by hancocks and got a couple good deals. I found the background fabric for my up coming TARDIS block, it is black and white and compasses. Was trying to find a TARDIS blue w/ a wood grain print, didn't find that at all, but I did find a sheer in the right blue that I plan on over laying some white fabric to make that kind of wood grain look. And I really needed another cutting mat, that and my favorite sissors were on a 40% off sale.

I was the same way then decided to make 2 or 3 of them. I had a choice then and also had some instant gifts on hand if I need them.
