My sense tells me that you are the type of person who is always willing to go forward on something even if daunting because you love to learn and do new things. If anyone can look at many colors and put them together so that they look beautiful, it is you. You have a wonderful and creative color sense. If you look at all that you have accomplished and make these quilts your own, you will have enough emotional fortitude to finish. Think of the colorful memories that you have of you Gma growing up and let that be your motivation. Don't let her alzheimers ruin your own memories. We all think you can do it!I'm working on finishing up 2 quilts I started years and years ago (like 8 or more). I am horrified at the lack of skill. They are the kind that look pretty okay from a distance, but have SERIOUS deficiencies when you can see the work. Not being modest or self deprecating here, the sewing and assembly is rough.
I started these for my Gma, they are bright and colorful, something she always loved. When I was nearly finished I showed them to her, not letting her know they were for her, and she had very negative comments about the colorfulness of them, I was hurt and confused, and stopped working on them. I now know it was one of the many early warning signs we missed of her alzhiemers. Anyway I have worked on them a few times to finish them, but have been unable to stick w/ them, so hoping I have the emotional fortitude to finish this time.

Mary and I are taking part. My quilt is no 20 , Mary's hasn't posted yet.
Ok everyone my blocks are on their way & I'm sorry in advance that the points etc are not great.
I've done Ohio stars b/f w/o these problems, in hind sight they were on my good 35 yr old machine, not this newer one so maybe that is part of the issue but I also blame the pattern instructions b/c where it said said "scant 1/4 seam" it should have said connect w/ pixie dust & moonbeams b/c there sure isn't enough fabric for sewing ;( Since I was down to the inch on the blue I wanted I luckily had also cut some of an alt. blue 6 of which I did first, only to find they made up at less than 12inch sq!! (pattern said they made to 12.5) so w/ the others already cut I had to sew such small seams that the fabric didn't even go under the feed dogs on one side !!! w/ that sort of pixie dust seams they made up to the correct size. But if you are concerned w/ these narrow seams & opt to put my blocks in a pillow etc & not your final quit I completely understand. On the bright side, I do think the colors worked well, so yah for all those who chimed in to go for it on adding a blue...
DH took the (wonky) photo, shows how much he understand about quilt blocks , but it gives you the idea how the colors look.
Points are very dark coffee bean brown (not black which they appear on my screen) & the center block is square I promise.
ok this is a terrible photo but The Blocks Are Done & heading to Kat's as I type.
