New Year Block swap

Ive been working on my mug rug, So much fun at that scale. Determined it shall be done in time....of course thats why I decided to try a ttotally new to me technique! I can see it starting a whole series of tiny quilts.

I'm working on finishing up 2 quilts I started years and years ago (like 8 or more). I am horrified at the lack of skill. They are the kind that look pretty okay from a distance, but have SERIOUS deficiencies when you can see the work. Not being modest or self deprecating here, the sewing and assembly is rough.

I started these for my Gma, they are bright and colorful, something she always loved. When I was nearly finished I showed them to her, not letting her know they were for her, and she had very negative comments about the colorfulness of them, I was hurt and confused, and stopped working on them. I now know it was one of the many early warning signs we missed of her alzhiemers. Anyway I have worked on them a few times to finish them, but have been unable to stick w/ them, so hoping I have the emotional fortitude to finish this time.
