New Year Block swap

Please stick to 12 blocks. It doesn't matter if we have more than 12 people as long as we all get 12 blocks back. This way we can accept any late comers and I am not counting CathieSue or myself as a latecomer. We don't have to turn anyone away . It shouldn't make it any more difficult to divvy out the blocks. We currently have 13 people so that's thirteen piles of blocks. Start at one end share out one person's blocks then when you run out of them continue with the second person's and so on.

Does anyone fancy doing a little mug coaster quilt swap for Christmas? We pull out the names of people willing to do this and whoever's name we get, we send the mug coaster quilt that we have made to that person. For example, I might get Cathy Sue, she might get Kat, Kat might get Fenrosie and so on. Just a thought.

The mug quilt sounds fun!

Is everyone up to make this a 13 blocker?
The reason I thought to do more is I'd hate to not get a block from someone. If we have 13 people, we could still get one from each, excluding our own. That might be more sorting than you want to do though katsdar? (just thinking out loud :))

I'm open to doing either. Can always save an extra block for another project :) Could even make your own coaster from it ;)

I am agreeable to doing it either way. I almost always use 20 blocks in a quilt anyway, so I will be making extras.

I think keeping the blocks at a set number would be easier to accept others into the swap, especially since the deadline is so far out.

It doesn't matter to me how many blocks since I will be making more to make a quilt top. It will be a sampler with everyone's different blocks, so I've been working on different ones to decide which one I might enjoy doing for the swap. So far I have completed 24 blocks with mostly browns, blacks, golds, muted blues and a little dark green. The blue is not bright like it looks in the picture. Its what I have and was going by the colors in the Earthtones - creative color schemes that katsdar had posted. I will keep the blocks that didn't turn out as well and send either one block design or several block designs for the swap. I haven't decided yet, I'm just having too much fun doing a block a day.
