New Year Block swap

@Kassandra, that one is actually tiny petals that change color depending on which color they are on top of,but mostly gold. My DH has decided that this is the fabric that he wants His quilt out of, so I need to buy more of it before it's gone.
@katsdar

The next one is a variation on the rail fence that you suggested at the first. My hope is that if I stay to the simple blocks and do them as well as I can, I will learn, and everyone will still be glad to get my blocks.

Everyone will be delighted :weee

Whine...i still cant subscribe to new threads. Is there a limit? I send an email to someone but no response yet.

@ cathiesue Did you ever decide which block you were going to do. That entire sampler quilt worth of blocks you have done is stunning btw. If I was you I'd use that as one side & the swap blocks as the flip side. But then I almost always do "reversable" quilts, ie pieced on both sides so it would be normal for me to do that, although gen. the back side is just something very simple like a checkerboard of 10inch squares, not some fabulous sampler of everything imaginable. Anyway, did you pick a block? I'm still thinking on mine, I got 2 new used quilt blooks last week and I've been snuggling with them & the cats pondering the many options.

Speaking of options -- it appears to me almost everyone so far has a blue in their colors. So it crossed my mind to add a blue to my other fabrics. Anyone good w/ color have a thought on that? It would mean I'd have 5 colors total in my block, which works for several of the Ohio star varriations , most of them are good w/ 3 or 5 but not 4 colors which I currently have...

I already posted it but as a reminder these are my current 4 fabrics:

If I add blue it would also be solid.

I think a blue would look good w/ those colors.

I need to find a pattern first before I chose mine. I loved learning the pattern we did for the Nov swap. I have only done a few simple block quilts. I'm excited to get started!!!

@FeyRaine blue would look wonderful and really make it sing, more colors the merrier, I still have not picked my block have eyed my fabric but have not bought it yet, but will as soon as this Nov swap is done.

Blue would be Gorgeous with those colours. They're really nice

FeyRaine, I think a blue would be a good choice too. Try a couple of different ones from your stash, one of them will make your others sing like an "October sky" does in the fall.

@FeyRaine you are so complimentary but I'm afraid you ahev me confused with someone else. Perhaps the very talented @Kassaundra ? I haven't done a sample quilt of blocks or a reversible but i know she has.
