Originally the cats were only going to be the center block, may loose the corners, yep will try that too

I think the block is cool, and I also think the two changes you are considering would be good, help show off your piecing.

If you had another color for the inner pieced parts, leaving the cats on the center, & around the outside I think it might show better the diff. # of pieces, bc/ rightnot the inner rectangles of cat fabric are kinda lost w/ the center which hides your work.

I think it looks good shows off your piecing better, and almost looks like you are looking "through" windows to see the cats.
