You ladies made me laugh, sleep yes, I think

but this is what happened last night, aren't they just beautiful

there are six of them, first time I have gotten white kitties, their dad is an orange tabby, he forgot the orange, the female is an inside cat and I didn't realize she was in heat, she didn't howl.
and this

I didn't venture off my porch but it is 3 inches, I know child's play for some of you but for me, it is not supposed to happen and more is coming in tonight so I said 2 days no mail service I retract that and say 3.

Snow can be pretty, but not when it wrecks havoc on daily life. 3" isn't much up here, but everything we do is built on the certainty of snow and cold. We don't do well with 100+ degrees in the summer either. Not prepared for it in our housing and our bodies.

Take care of yourself and just enjoy some time in your sewing room so you don't have to deal with the outside mess.

Kat, Love the mama cat, looks like one my sister had when we were kids, we were told it was a Russian Blue not sure that is true, but ours had 6 toes on each foot so my ever logical sister named it Feet. (yah). About the 2 white ones, if they are male they maybe have no hearing, I can't remember the specifics but there is some sex link for males trait in cats that if they come out solid white they will also be deaf, you might want to google it for details. My understanding is they would be perfectly healthy otherwise. (& it maybe only white w/ blue eyes males...anyway heads up to check on that).

RE: snow , for once we didn't get any in this last round , snow north & south of us but we caught a break yesterday/today. (5 inches forecast for tomorrow night). But I was able to get out and do some chicken maintance today. My layer pen all got vaseline on their legs & feet, I had an issue last late summer w/ some leg mites and while I think I got resolved all this terrible weather & them being cooped up more than normal had me thinking better just go ahead and do another round of vaseline on everyone, old hens (who had the issue) , Rooster & perfect looking pullets too. Just a better safe than sorry mid-winter thing. Most of the girls have very red combs as of the past few days, so I'm looking for eggs any day now! I have 5 EE/EO pullets not from my own stock in there so it is going to be really fun to see what colors I get Several of them have very fluffy cheeks etc. so maybe even a blue egg is possible, and there is a chance of a BCM (pure) so a choc. egg is not entirely out of the question...

I know that was my first time to ship outside of the U.S. too, I was surprised by the extra lines, I think the British had 6 lines instead of our 3.
