New Year, New Goals: Setting Resolutions for a Fresh Start

As far as my micro-homestead goes, I plan to...
- Grow lots of new flowers (including doubling last year's dahlia count and acquiring some new varieties of them)
- Sell more plant dividings and berry starts (using local FB garden groups and FB Marketplace), which helped keep up with my garden expenses last year
- Consider selling my honey at our local farmers market
- Consider selling soap with the honey...I made my first two batches of soap last summer and I'd like to get into the process of selling on a small scale
- Spend more time with my chickens, since my busy schedule has prevented that as of late :)

Happy New Year, dear poultry farmers! I would like to wish you that your birds make you happy and always have a good offspring! My goal this year is to achieve good coloring and defect-free plumage on my Orpingtons! Buy more Orpingtons!)))

Exercise more.
Eat healthier & find more veggies that I like (currently I only like romaine lettuce, carrots, and potatoes lol.)
Raise at least 20 monarch caterpillars to become butterflies 🥰 🦋

There are more but I just can't think of them right now..

1. Fully heal from my total hip replacement on 01/23/25 before going back to work. And not feel guilty about it! 🙄 I didn't do that with my rotator cuff repair and had a 2nd surgery 6 weeks after the 1st.

2. Better cultivate my existing friendships. I'm not built to have a host of friends, but I need to do better by the few good friends I have now. This will entail saying yes to invitations. *sigh*

  • Go fishing at least once
  • Try out at least three restaurants near me that I haven’t visited before (currently at 1/3)

What kinds have you tried already? Maybe we can suggest some.
