New Years Resolution - my chicken's diet

I have found a "treat" my birds really like is their regular food moistened with water into a thick mash. It's a great way to use up the fine bits that they won't eat, and I can give it to them warm.

Or maybe it's just because it's in a different bowl.

Yep...cold turkey.
...and don't wait for new years, start today!

Good to have OS in a separate feeder always available,
but I spread grit with scratch grains on occasion.
Have had them gorge on the grit if offered in a dish.

my girls are used to foraging for their food, during the summer and fall they had plenty of grass and seeds to eat, but now we have everything covered in snow. They barely touched their food when they free ranged, and so I DO supplement their greens twice a day. ( I grow wheat grass, sprouting peas, mixed grasses, and micro greens; and I bought some dandelion greens, mustard and collard greens) I alternate which greens they get. But usually a half cup satisfies all 3 of them
