New York mini chickenstock 2016

Anyone interested in chicks w big hairdos, 50+ Spitzhauben & spitz-merl chicks hatched here over the past couple weeks. Silver spangled, gold spangled, chamois, blue, and black. LMK if you'd like me to hold a couple, few, or bunch for you for chickenstock. They're all healthy, strong, and super cute!

Which ones are these? That hen is gorgeous! I love the pattern on her chest.

3 out 4 zipped and kicking. The other 16 piped and wiggle.

Congrats!

For everyone coming to Chickenstock:
I'm going to a swap/sale tomorrow, so I'm trying to figure out what I should save for any of you. Or, not. I'll be posting some photos & if you're interested, please let me know asap.
I'm sorry it's such short notice, but we'll be leaving by 8am sharp tomorrow morning & I don't want to take all the started pullets & not have any for Chickenstock.

I'm also checking - everyone is set on roosters, right?
I've decided to simplify a little more, so am in the process of selling the Swedish Flower Hens.
That includes my current breeder roosters. Unfortunately, frostbite took off their single comb's points, but they're gorgeous, gentle boys.

I might also have a few hens, but not sure yet as waiting to hear back from others possibly interested.

She is one of the hens in my blue project pen. Her father was a solid blue spitz and her mother was a silver spangled spitz. The cross broke up the spangle to make some interesting patterns in those birds. I may be able to part with a couple of these girls if you are interested. They're super sweet and great layers. I don't think I have any chicks right now who will color out quite like her.

Pullet pictures OVERLOAD!
Let me know if there's any you'd like me to hold for you. You can PM me for details, as I have their hatch dates, etc.

Catskill Homesteader - (both photos are the same pullet) -
top view, then one that shows head better

SFH - unique color - almost tempted to keep it myself for eyecandy :)

(same pullet's head)

Catskill Homesteader - picture doesn't show true colors
it's a very light blue - almost reminds me of a "platinum"??
with light tan edges, darker blue/brown head

This pullet is older, hatched 3/12, but
has shorter legs due to "papa" being
1/2 bantam cochin - but she has a nice
size body, so she'll be 3/4 large size
with short legs??

Her head is white, while the rest of her is
mainly the brown/red & black
her legs have tiny little "sprouts", not fully feathered.

And she's pretty friendly, even though she doesn't
come up to me for lap time, she was pretty relaxed
with standing on my leg while taking photos.

This girl isn't a Barred Rock, she's actually
one of the last Bielefelder crosses I hatched this year
before selling the rooster. She has some brown/gold
on her neck feathers.

This little one had me convinced was a rooster
b/c its comb was kind of large, but hasn't grown
recently (compared to the other cockerels)
and all its feathers look to be pullet.
I'll know for sure by Chickenstock.

Lastly, is one of "Elly May's" - the black bantam's chicks
Of course, this one has the most mottling & is an little rooster!
He also has several brothers, all cute little crested, feather footed.
I'm not sure if I'll have enough of their sisters to share with anyone,
but they're mostly solid black.
They're 1/2 bantam cochin (2 unrelated sources), 1/4 silkie, 1/2 Swedish Flower Hen!

Oh, that's very tempting ... I'll send you a pm.

OK - got the new numbers :) Just to make sure you all know the body type and coloring - they will be from white, light & dark grey body feathers - all with flecks of black (splash) All cold hardy and all lay like leghorns as far as numbers - they also start to lay normal to early age - they do start with smaller pullet sized eggs and then ramp up. All eggs a light blue. As you can see - the poppa is darker grey - 2 hens are medium grey (what some call lavendar) and 4 hens are white splash.

I'll start to collect the eggs soon :) YIPPEE Chickenstock time is almost here.

Seen chicken printed mugs, soup mugs and accessories at Dollar General today! Think I'll pick some up to make a basket for Chickenstock. :)

ooohhh! ! Are those the parents of my AB to be?? Beautiful, I can't wait.

So, the restroom and tables and grill and outlet for crock pot are all lined up. Remember to bring your lawn chairs and such.

My brain is all fuzzy, I don't plan stuff like this, my husband does. I can't wait!!!
