I grew up in Allegany County. I moved to California almost 20 years ago. Everyone out here assumes i'm from the city when i say New York but i started saying New York State so they don't have to ask.

I'm in Sherburne, NY which is right between Utica and Binghamptom along route 12. Originally from NJ, but have been up here for 5 + years and loving it.

That's a nice area... and it's not too far away from Kingston where all the stores and stuff are. The only problem around us is we don't have a lot of livestock stores. I buy my feed from TSC in Highland, and there is a blue seal near us but they are not "up to par".

If you get the house you will be about 15 minutes from me and 15 minutes from stores. You should check out further... there may be a house with some nice property for less. Just an idea. I'm on the border of columbia-greene. Whatever you do don't go into the village... they do not allow poultry.

Alas, I'm limited to four school districts (Saugerties, Kingston, Onteora and Rondout Valley) and need to find something before school begins, if at all possible.

I went to Onteora HS, as did my brother and sister. We actually liked the school alot. This was many years ago, but .....for what it is worth. It was fine then
