Hello. I'm a retired grandma and have decided I'd like to have a few chickens. I am going to have to build my own coop (with the help of my not to handy with wood husband :-) and learn which chickens to get. I'm pretty excited about this site and have already found pictures/drawings of a coop that I actually think I can build!!! It's got to be sturdy because we live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and I'd hate to loose my "girls" to predators. So...I'm excited!!

Hello, and welcome from down below you in Arizona! Good luck with getting your coop built so that you can start your flock. Build bigger than for the amount of them that you want, because that will give them a bit more room especially when it get's really hot.
