Welcome to the flock. There are a lot of city girls, and boys on here. I've been told even Chicago allows chickens - who knew??

The Learning Center is a great place to start - answers questions you didn't even know you had. The various forums cover the major aspects of raising and maintaining chickens, etc.

If you find you have unanswered questions just lay it on us - that's what we are here for. Others should be along to greet you shortly.

Welcome to BYC!

Lots of members here willing to hold your hand! As Drumstick Diva has mentioned, the best place to start is our learning center. Lots of good reads on how to get started, building the coop, and raising your new flock....

While you are there, stop by our coops pages for lots of great ideas on coops. Some of them are very easy to follow if you are good with a hammer...

Then you will want to stop by these two breeds pages to get an idea on what type of chicken you are looking for....

This should get you started. If you have any specific questions, that is what we are here for. Make yourself at home here on BYC and welcome to our flock!
