Newbie 1st Post - Let's get'er started

Looks great you've come a long way congratulations.
Thanks. I just need to figure out a good watering system and add a couple of nest boxes. 2 should be enough for 9 hens, right? As far as watering goes, I was thinking about a large bucket with nipples on the bottom to hang out in the run. I was also thinking of tapping water from one of my sprinkler heads to help fill the bucket every other day when the cycle runs. Has anyone done this?

You might want to consider putting 3 nestboxs in case chicken math strikes, don't waste your money with the vertical nipples if your in a area that gets cold, go with horrizontal nipples they don't hold the water inside them and are far less likely to freeze, my bucket only needs to be filled every couple of weeks.

It's a cat food container probably 4 gallons with 2 horizontal nipples for 4 hens, they don't leak or drip like the vertical nipples if you put it in your coop for the winter the vertical ones might leak and create unwanted moisture.

Can you send me the link on where to find these horizontal watering nipples? I've made a few searches online and come up with a lot of review pages but no vendors selling them. Even a search on Amazon did not result in these nipples. Ideas?

I contacted QCU Poultry and they directed me to "all bout chickens" you can order as many or as little as you'd like, drill a 3/8 hole and thread them in they will seal themselves as they go in.
