I am located in northwest indiana and have been considering buying a few chickens for a few years and this year we finally did it. We ordered our chicks (5 buff brahmas) from a local feed store and they are set to be delivered around May 2nd. I was hoping to get them a little earlier but this was the only place around that offered a small amount of sexed brahmas everywhere else it was a straight run or if I wanted them sexed I would have to order 15 or more.

We are finishing up our homemade coop for them and just today I went out and purchased the finishing touches for my brooder so everything will be all set when our babies arrive. I am really looking forward to learning a ton before my babies come home, seeing as this is my first adventure with raising baby chicks, or owning chickens in general.
