Newbie chicken mama!

Hello!

My name is Ashley and I’m a chicken mama to my 3 hens: Carol (Cinnamon Queen), Liza (Black Australorp) and Judy (Black Australorp). I brought them home in April 2024 and have been obsessed ever since.

I think so far my favorite part of chicken tending is getting to know their individual personalities. Each girl is truly unique.

Outside of tending to my flock, I am an avid reader and crafter. Anything that allows me to relax and enjoy the day!

I am a step-mom to my two kiddos: 15 and 12 years old and a wife to my first responder husband. I work full time (remote from home) in software which allows me to spend so much time with my flock and family In addition to my feathered babies, I have one corgi, two cats and two jumping spiders.

My vet recommended I join Backyard Chickens so that I can continue to grow my knowledge of flock tending, as well as connect with other like-minded chicken owners! I am so excited to be here and hopefully one day expand my flock!

Posting some photos of our flock Unfortunately we lost one of our girls a couple of weeks ago - I’m still working through the heartbreak of our loss, Bob Fosse (Hen, cinnamon Queen) - but Carol, Judy and Liza are my absolute loves

So sorry about the loss of Bob Fosse. That's always so hard to lose one we grew close to.
