Newbie first coop

Hello everyone

I have started building my first coop is it safe for me to enclose the run with plastic mesh or should I use welded wire? Pics comming...

Not sure where you are but you need to know what your predators are. Plastic mesh will keep out pest birds, thats about it.

I was afraid of that I live in the woods and I do have coons and other not so nice predators so I guess I should take it off and purchase the welded wire.

just put some 2x3 or 1x2 over that then nothing can get through and chicks cant stick heads out

I'm on my way to purchase another small roll of hardware cloth after work today to encircle the bottom of my run with. I had one of my little ones stick their head through the wire over the weekend and had that uh-oh moment.

Have had those ut oh moments myself. Just like kids...they stick their heads and appendages in places they shoudn't.
