Will be getting chicks as soon as weather breaks and I can get my old 8 by 10 she'd set up looking for egg layers and breeders any advice would be greatly appreciated am still reading other posts for ideas
If you are looking for good layers - Leghorns are the best I'm told. Delawares, RIRs', Welsummers are also good reliable layers. Have you looked at Hendersons chicken chart for a general idea of breed/temperament/egg laying??
As for breeders, I don't know about local breeders, but Mypetchicken.com, Meyers, McMurray, Strombergs to name a few of the internet options. I have always ordered from MPC and have had good results.
I'm sure other folks will give you some good advice also, enjoy! Sue
