We have 11 week old chicks. 2 easter eggers, a rhode island red, a buff laced polish and a barred Plymouth rock. I've found lots of valuable info here so I have decided to join so I can post a health problem I have with my BPR. She has a swollen bottom. Anyone know what could be causing this and how to help? She's far too young to be egg bound. She's eating, drinking & pooping OK but is not quite as energetic as normal and has had her beak slightly open. Just noticed it yesterday am.

sorry I'm not gonna be any help with your hen's problems, but

Want to welcome you to the site. I have a suggestion for you. Try to get a picture of the swollen bottom and post your question on the "Emergencies/Diseases/" topic. You'll get lots of good advice there. If you can't get a picture, describe the age of the chick, and the condition. I'm sorry I don't have the answer for you. If the area becomes raw, put neosporin on it and isolate her. Best of luck!
