Newbie from Scotland!

Hi iv been wondering about putting a chicken in the stable ( in a seperate enclosed run) with my 5 wk old chicks as a role model.

Iv noticed they mainly feed and drink when I'm with them and they follow me when I leave :(

I have 2 broodie adult hens. Or would you choose the lowest on the pecking order?

Just a thought. I might be silly thinking it might help their confidence.

Any advice welcome :)

It would probally be a better idea to put the chicks in a run next to the adult chickens, so that they can not only see each other, but also by the time they are adults, the main flock will already be used to them, which eliminates the stress of trying to introduce new members.

Hoping they're all doing well.... :)

Thanks everyone they only been outside for a wk with their light still and all doing well except they miss their mummy :(

Learning point for next time is to have the brooder outside so they are more used to it.

we've been lucky and had good weather. I just thought a bit of hen company would help.
