I have my geese out on grass during the day and will have 2nd cut grass hay in the winter. I am wondering if I feed them a little grain at night is there a concern for sour crop like there would be for chickens?
Also I found a grain mix for layers but it has calcium. Is it okay for the gander and geese to have calcium all year?
This grain mix (Nature's Grown Organics) also has niacin and vit e, etc, if I put it in their water bucket each night would it degrade the vitamins or would that still work?
What is the appropriate protein level for adults? 20%, 18% or 16%? Does that level need to change depending on the time of year?
Do ganders have different voices compared to a goose like with ducks?
Wormers? I have a weekly herbal wormer that I use for my goats but I believe it just targets digestive worms. Is there a chemical wormer that should be used annually or biannual for other things like gapeworm?
Finally are there any articles or threads about defining goosie noises and body language? I have wanted geese for years and have been following a couple different things online but now I have all sorts of questions! Thanks!
