I'm just saying hi. I have been following this site for awhile. I'm amazed at how helpful and supportive it is.

I have three chicks - getting a fourth - a bantam, hopefully. Two RIR's and on BR. I love them all already. They are odd and wonderful things.

We are doing pretty well. Pasty butt last night but otherwise all fixed and happy. I've researched chickens and wanted them for years...finally did it since getting rid of the husband

I have given my 1 week/3 day old chicks very fine sand grit to get them going to treats. They ate it like it was liquid gold and would make them rich. They didn't care about yogurt or strawberries.

How do I post pics?

Trust me, you're going to love every minute of chicken keeping! It's nice seeing so many people getting into the hobby. (well, besides the mucking out and pasty butt routine, of course!)

My chicks were the same way, they wouldn't even touch yogurt until they were several weeks old. They just surveyed the dish with this revolted expression...
