Hello! I've been a member for about 3 months but can't remember if i formally introduced myself. I am not only new to this site but I am also new to chicken raising. I have my first 6 chickens, 12 weeks old now. 3 plymouth rocks and 3 buff orpingtons. I still don't know the sex of any but that will come with time.

I have an elderly cockapoo who has been slowly introduced to the flock and I can now trust him around them. I also have 3 indoor kitties so I don't need to worry about any of them making lunch out of my chickies.

I'm born and raised on Long Island about and hour east of NYC. Recently retired, I have lots of time to do the things I love like spend time with my chickens, knit, crochet, sew and create stained glass pieces.

That's me in a nutshell. Thanks!
