newbie...I keep getting different answers & so confused

Mtadkins5, I have one pen with five 17 week old roosters in it. Yesterday I only had three in there and two were being kind of mean to one and a couple roosters in the hen's pen were picking at the hens. I got ill at all of them and put all five in the same pen. When I first put them in it was like a bar fight! LOL Today they are fine, calm as can be - and the hens are happy. lol They are maybe 50 feet from the hens but can still see them. I guess most all roosters will fight. I believe your roosters will all be fine in the same pen but the further away from the hens the better and you can put up something like a tarp so they can't see the hens. These five roosters (except maybe one) will go to the freezer in 2-3 weeks. Like you, I have 8 more roosters in the brooder with the plan of possibly breeding some.

Good luck to you.

I didn't read through the responses so if this has been said please forgive me:

You can just make a rooster pen. Without girls they will be much more likely to get along. Then when you need to breed them, you can put a few hens in with one roo (in a breeding pen) then collect the eggs.

I have never had ducks so can't help you there.
How far from the girls do they need to be? Silly but can you just pick the roosters and hens up and move them whenever? I know nothing so sorry for my silly questions. How do you move them from one pen or place to another? Thank you for your response :)

Thank you for making me feel better and have hope =)
