Is this what shrink wrapping is when humidity drops? :(

Looks like mine did when they were wrapped. I only opened up the end with the air cell. I had no blood in the membrane, but yours looks like it might, which means it wasn't ready to hatch. I assisted my two wrapped eggs and neither seems to have suffered at this point. They are 2 and 3 days old now.

i dont think that was a humidity issue. it looks pretty wet to me. and it had just died because it was in position to hatch.the blood veins were not actively bleeding so you didnt do it. whatever happened a day or two ago caused it or sometimes they get this far and just arnt strong enough. there could be a lot of reasons. just my guess. did you open all or just this one? the others may still be good yet

btw, either you have very small hands or those are BIG eggs and they take longer

that looks like it died before hatch day to me. if you take the rest of the shell off (you can leave the membrane on for future), you can look at the yolk. if there is a whole yolk, the absorption process never started. if the yolk is gone and the navel is formed well, it was a fully formed chick.

here is a troubleshooting guide: http://msucares.com/poultry/reproductions/trouble.html
I think it looks like too high humidity, but can't be sure. that is not shrink wrapping.

by the way, I have had good luck with the dry incubation method. you add as little water as possible, aiming for above 25% humidity but below 45% humidity day 1-18, and 65% humidity day 19-21. more information on the dry method:
