Yes!!! It is most humane & practical. This is the reality of living in the country. You're either feeding the predators or taking them out. I watched a farm/feral cat stalk my 6 week old chicks, but by the time I got my gun, it was long gone. Let it be said that I wouldn't shoot a dog or cat unless it was actively pursuing my flock. I have had large, friendly neighbourhood dogs come onto my property before. My smaller dogs escort them off. I would rather persuade them to leave & they usually do.Good idea sdm111. Your exactly right about them being someone elses problem. We live in the country and city folk seem to like dropping off dogs out here, they go wild, and start killing goats, sheep, chickens, you name it. Its more humane to just do away with the problem right up front
