Hi, this is my first hatch batch!

It is day 19 and I have 4 eggs that are pipping and I can hear them...Is this too early or just about normal? I am trying to keep the humidity at 65-70. I thought when they pip it was supposed to go up, but mine is going down slowly. I have been using a turkey baster to put water into the plug spot of my Genesis Hova Bator. Then I pop it back on quick.
Are things on track or too early?

The only 1 of my 5 eggs that hatched ended up hatching on day 19, and she's going great!

Thank you!! I am hovering and worrying. Gosh I read about people getting like this during the hatch, but I did not think I would.
I have hardly moved away and have flashlight almost glued to my hand. I am so excited

I have my first batch of eggs too and I am a nervous wreck waiting for them to hatch too lol. I'm on day 16 so no pips for me yet. But don't worry I know I will not let the incubator leave my sight when, or if, I hear a pip. Hopefully I do hear one!!

I've heard of people having chicks hatch on day 19 so I think you are good. But I'm a beginner too. I just thought I'd help share your nervousness lol.

I hope all goes well, you'll have to keep us posted.

You sound like me! I have Coturnix pipping at the moment and keep running between here and the incubator!

Oh I am so glad I am not alone!!!!! I wondered how people could hear the baby chicks through all that foam, but they sure come through loud and clear. I have done nothing today but stare at the eggs since 6 am. Oh it is so fun to see them rock and roll!

Good luck, happy hatching and thank you for your support. Let me know how your hatches are going and I'll help you too

Our first chicks hatched almost 2 months ago, the night they started to hatch everybody slept on the floor in the computer room so we could wake up when we heard the shells cracking:D. It was so great!Congrats on your new chicks

Thank you! Can you really hear the shells crack. I can see the pips and hear the chicks, but haven't seen any major breakthroughs yet.

You are definetely not alone. I was thinking the same thing. I guess you can hear it throw the vent plugs though? I can't wait!!!

Good luck to you too.
