We have a mama Silkie that had 2 babies, in a tote to keep them safe, and found out this morning one of them had died! I'm wondering if the mama killed it... looks like she might have tried to bury it?? Should there be concern about the remaining baby? Anything would be helpful! We've tried to introduce them back into the flock, but our rooster attacked the Mom... not sure what to do??

Hmmm...
I would put the remaining chick in a brooder and raise it yourself if you suspect mom killed its sibling. Sometimes new mother hens get confused and do silly things like kill their babies. Hard to say though.

I would brood the chick yourself and put mom back in the flock. Are you sure the rooster is attacking her seriously and not just re-establishing pecking order?

Great Snag is right...sometimes the rooster will appear to attack a broody hen, but I think they are more or less just establishing the pecking order and trying to get the hen back to a breeding frame of mind.
