Please excuse the blurry picture, but it is hard to take a picture of a wiggly chick with only two hands, and I can't find a pair of readers to save my life. Is that greenish lump on my chick's behind the umbilical cord or pasty butt? The chick is 5 days old, does not seem to have any problems, and I have soaked it's hiney with a damp paper towel, but nothing is coming off. I don't want to pick at it, will it come off on its own or is there something else I need to do?

Looks like the umbilical cord. I made the mistake with one of my first chicks thinking it was pasty butt and cleaned it off and it started bleeding. Luckily the chick was fine. My chicks umbilical coed was black though not green
