Hi,

About 6 weeks ago we bought three hens (white rock, barred rock, and an americauna) from a small bird "farm" (parrots to geese to chickens, etc.). Not long after, the americauna had bubbling in one eye and she would keep in only partially open. We thought she just got something in it. After about a couple of weeks it cleared up. No other apparent symptoms.

Then, a couple of weeks ago while we were out of town our white rock died while in the care of one of our neighbors. According to him, one afternoon he came to check on them and she was walking funny, then in the evening when he went to put them in for the night he found her dead.

Anyway, do these symptoms sound related? We also just today bought another hen from the same breeder (RIR) to replace our son's white rock and told her about the bubbling eye. She didn't sound concerned but just said a "cold" is passing through the chicken communities.

Any suggestions what we should do?? Also, we still haven't had any eggs, although they seem to be of age (4-6 months) - the barred rock did just get all her molted feathers back.

Thanks in advance!
