Hello! Im new to the forum and newish to chickens. Growing up i was often around chickens through my families dairy farm, or the barn where i boarded my horses but we finally purchased out own flock about a year ago! We have a small flock of 5 hens, 1 rooster and have 6 upcoming pullets we will be introducing to the flock once the weather warms up. Currently its pretty chilly where we are in the finger lakes region of NY.

(1) Are you new to chickens?
Sort of, new to fully owning them, but not new new to them in general
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
5 laying hens, 1 rooster, and 6 pullets
(3) What breeds?
Laying hens are Sapphire splashes, starlight green egger, and easter egger. Our rooster is an easter egger also. The pullets are white leghorns
(4) Favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens
I've really enjoyed watching them. They all develop their own little cool personalities and i think its so neat to watch them interact with the world around them. I also love the egg aspect of course!
(5) Other hobbies?
I show and compete with dogs, build computers and am getting into gardening finally this year.
