Hi everyone! I'm new to the chick hatching process. My wonderful husband bought me a Little Giant 9300 with the egg turner. I placed 5 eggs in my bator on 3/28 and 2 more on 3/30/2017. Only 3 of them developed, 2 were not fertile and 2 developed the blood ring. I'm super excited that they should be hatching in the next couple days. I've removed the turner and placed them on "lockdown" My humidity was around 58, I placed a damp cloth in the bator along with filled my water channels up. I didn't get to check them this morning (was running late for work.) I did candle just after I removed the turner and marked my air pocket. I will be patiently and excitedly look for a pip.Have to get home tonight and get my brooder box ready. I hope I have done things the proper way. Will be trying another clutch of eggs in a couple weeks after we get back from vacation. This forum is AMAZING! I've learned so much from it over the past month! Thanks for what you do and keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for the response! Always wanted to visit Kansas, I'm in South Carolina! I will definitely check out the links that you posted!

Welcome to BYC

I hope you get them chicks to hatch in a few days. I can't wait to see the pictures if you take any. Great hubby getting you a nice gift that will keep giving you chicks anytime you want them. He just maybe having to build you another coop or two in a year or so. Chicken math is contagious. ( that's when we get 2 or 3 then add a few more and before long we have 20 chickens. ) lol

Let us know when you get a pip from the first egg. Its so exciting to watch.

Ohh I will most definitely post pictures and will update on the pip. Yeah I have a feeling this is going to be an addiction.......lol

I checked when I got home from work and non pips yet....Had to add water since my humidity was below 65%. Hopefully will have some pipping tomorrow!

Thanks Diva! I'm super excited, first time ever hatching! Hopefully I'll be home when they hatch!!
