Newbie to Incubation

Today should be day 20 and tomorrow you make see some pip's show up from your first batch.
Your second batch should pip on the 20 or 21st. If all goes right. I am so excited for you. If you open up the incubator listen really closely and see if you hear any thing don't move any eggs at this point and only open it if you have to add water for humidity or if you need to remove chicks once they have hatched and dried. Make sure your brooder is set up and after you come home on the 20th turn on the light so the temp is correct inside the brooder. Good luck I will check back soon.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Good Morning Bambrook!

Thank you so much! Everyone has been so welcoming and I love it! I can't wait to show pictures of my new babies! I checked first thing this morning and still no pips. I had to add a little water to bring up my humidity! My husband I are going to make my brooder tonight when I get home. I just hope that none of them hatch while I'm at work today. I would to see them start the process, heck and knowing me I would stay up all night trying to watching them hatch.

Yea our brooder will be set up tonight and the light turned on and ready to go, no pips this morning. Hope for some tonight. I haven't seen the eggs move since I took the turner out. I thought they might wobble around a little, but there has been nothing. I know the chicks are viable, I seen them move when I candled them one last night before "lockdown" Maybe there will be some pips by the time I get home from work, which will be around 7. I have to go to the store and get some chick starter. Praying for easy pipping and hatching for my lil ones! Thanks you so much for all your advise, everyone has been so helpful!

Well no pips this evening! Hubby from fixed brooder tote for me this evening pretty good setup! The anticipation is killing me to see just the first little pip! He's my brooder tote all ready and waiting on the sweet lil babies!

I think I know why no pipping yet, tomorrow will actually be my 21st day. I put them in the Bator on 3/28 around 6pm.

I know the anticipation is driving me crazy lol

The anticipation is killing us all. Now I hope we don't have a extra day to wait or they hatch in the middle of the night for you. I am glad your brooder is set up now because soon you will see the first chick pip and come out of its shell several hours later. How many eggs did you set up in the incubator? You may in a week or so need a bigger brooder.
