Hey everyone. I'm an old hand at chicken wrangling and I live in Mount Gambier, South Australia. Mum had chickens when I was a kid. Got married to a chicken lover and bred show silkies for a while and had lots of different breeds over the years. Went out of them for a while but life just isn't the same without poultry!

I currently have 4 Isa Browns and just bought 5 Australorp Splashes and a mixed bag of day olds that have multiple different coloured egg layers in their background.

It's hard to say WHY one loves chickens. In my blood I guess. Their personalities, their antics - they bring the backyard alive. I can sit out there with a cuppa on a weekend when the sun is shining and they are just scratching around and doing their thing and the world seems a peaceful, happy place.

Your community has come up in searches I have done over the years, but the posts about "wool hens" got me over the line. Can't wait to build my first one.

Thank you all for having me. I'm looking forward to sharing and learning.

Kind regards,
Lyn.
