Hello and thank you all for posting such wonderful and informative information. I am new to not only this site, but raising chickens as well. My son asked if we could raise a few and I could not find any reason not to. We started out with just four Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks and they are now five weeks old. Not wanting to wait for egg laying to begin, we picked up a pair of Golden Comets and one Americana. They are such nice girls and have taken to our family and started providing us with an egg a day. The Americana is every other day at this point. We are looking forward to another shipment of chicks in a few weeks and look forward to a great experience. Once I figure out how to post photos, I will share their feathery photos with you all.
