I'm not sure he's a Malines. Maybe a malines mix. The barring looks incomplete, almost like he's also got some partial lacing or some other kind of pattern going on. And the yellowish shade on his hacklrs and shoulders makes me think he might be split for gold (or it could be from spending a lot of time in the sun). The feathering on his legs is also too heavy. Here's one of my malines cockerels, about 19 weeks old, for comparison. You can see how much sparser his leg feathering is.

He's a mix. I think he's got some light Brahma in there but I'm not sure. He's quite stunning!
