Hi, I'm new here and I bought my first 7 as day old chicks about a month ago. I have pics below of them with their names and their ages(they are not all the same age, because I picked them up at different times due to their availability). I'm wondering if any of them are roosters. I don't want roosters, so hopefully they're all pullets. Any feedback would be great!

These are my seven chicks:

This is Trixie. She is a six week old Light Brahma.

This is Penny. She is a 5 week old Partridge Rock. My concern with her is the size of her comb and she sometimes uses an awkward loud call.

This is Alma. She is a 5 weeks old Araucana.

This is Johanna. She is also a 5 weeks old Araucana, but her long tail concerns me. Nothing about her behavior would make me think she was a rooster on the other hand.

This is Freda. She is a 4 week old Rhode Island Red.

This is Rexy. She is a 4 week old Barred Plymouth Rock.

And this is Margaret. She is a 3 1/2 week old Austrolorp.

Penny is for sure a rooster. Margaret probably is. The rir has a good chance to be. The barred rock has the makings of a pullet. Johanna may be a pullet. The others hmm?

My guesses would match perrym's, except I'm not so sure about Margaret because her legs are blurry. A good closeup from above of the combs of the Auracanas would help. Are they hatchery/feed store chicks?

Penny is definitely a rooster. Close-ups of the combs on the brahma and araucanas/easter eggers would help - we need to see the color on those combs. Were the chicks supposed to all be pullets, or were they straight run?

Johanna could be an Ameraucana or "Easter Egger" and that's why she has a tail. Some places will have them mis-labelled.
I don't think the Araucana roosters have tails.

They are from a feed store. They say their chicks are 99% sexed. The EE don't have any combs to photograph. The only one who has a comb to mention is Penny. When will I expect him/her to crow? Thanks.

Crowing starts at very widely different times depending on the individual but usually by around 12-14 weeks they start making their first attempts. By 18-20 weeks they are usually champs at it.

And my opinion is that Penny is for sure a roo, and I'd be watching Trixie pretty closely - those are pretty large red wattles for a 5 week old chick - might be rooster coming out or may just be a bit faster maturing pullet.

Yes, I've been noticing waddles on Trixie too. I'm trying to ignore them because she is such a wonderful chicken! She coos when I or my daughter holds her.

I wouldn't know about sexing... but wow... those are some big birds for their age. LOL... I guess I didn't realize they grew that fast.

Really, you need to take pics of them at least once a week, because you'll see they double in size rapidly. It's really incredible!
