Hello, and welcome! Good luck with the coop building! Have you thought about what breed or breed's that you would like to get yet? Is your goal for just egg's, or for the meat and egg's dual-purpose breed's?

Thanks! Well I would like dual-purpose breeds, but I’m not sure I could bring myself to dispatch them...so for now the goal is just eggs. Some of the breeds I like are: BCMs, Spitzhaubens, Hedemoras, Favorelles, Easter Eggers and frizzle gold buff laced Polish (they’re so cute!).

If you're looking into ordering chickens from a hatchery, might I suggest that you use Ideal? It's nearby (that general vicinity), they have decent prices for the variety, and they also don't have a minimum chick order.
