I know literally nothing about emus haha but I assume if they're similar to chickens their nutritional needs are met by their yolk sack for the first 24 hours or so which js probably why theyre not super interested in food or water yet but like a chick I assume you know dip the beak so it knows where it is and what not. I'm mostly following cuz I want to see updated pictures because I find emus absolutely adorable!!! HahaView attachment 4317622Baby emu hatched today. Any advice for the 1st week? Hasn’t ate or drank but did poop. Sleepy but still gets up and tries to stand. Two more wiggling in the incubator![]()
I’ve read it can take them up to 3 days to even be interested in eating or drinking due to the size of their yolk! I feel like I’m being a helicopter mom because I have been trying to hatch one since last November and this is our first hatched. I can do 21 days for chicks but 50 for emu is hardI know literally nothing about emus haha but I assume if they're similar to chickens their nutritional needs are met by their yolk sack for the first 24 hours or so which js probably why theyre not super interested in food or water yet but like a chick I assume you know dip the beak so it knows where it is and what not.
