I just throw my grit on the ground next to the oyster shell in the run/coop area

Welcome to BYC. If you just sit quietly, in their pen, and read several times a week, they will come to you. Once they are used to you, you'll be tripping over them every time you turn around.

I never thought of that. There 2 that will let me give them a back rub when I'm feeding but that's it. Thank you
