From this morning’s paper in SoCal. It says there have been no new positives since September 4. They have cut enforcement staff in half.

“On Oct. 22, the department declared the epidemic to be in its “freedom of disease” phase. Quarantines banning transit of poultry in Los Angeles County and much of Riverside and San Bernardino counties remain in effect, but inspectors are now seeking final confirmation that the risk of infection is over.”

This is going on it's third year now, C'MON!! What is worse, is that he US POSTAL Service will not send, not only in the affected areas, but all around the affected areas. i.e. Bakersfield is not in the containment area according to CDFA, but the postal service won't mail or send birds from Bakersfield zip codes 90000 - 93599

Almost 3 year's now then, and it's still going on? When do they come back from their vacation to get thing's back in order over there? ;)

This is awful. I've been denied hatching eggs, not even live chicks. It's really quite a miserable time to want babies. Grrrrrrr

As of Good Friday, yesterday, CDFA confirmed to me that Quarantine still on and that they're not granting permits yet. They're hoping to lift Quarantine soon.

I'm in Orange County, so I'm not in the Newcastle quarantine zone, but still prohibited from receiving chicks in the mail. My question is . . . if I can't receive them, how is my local feed store able to receive them and sell them? They get theirs from Privett in NM.

Wooohooo about dang time !
