Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.

HI everyone
I am a newcomer to Backyard Chickens and I must say I have learnt so much in such a short time. this site is fantastic.
I can hardly get any work done because I am constantly looking onto BC. thanks so much for all your interesting information.
I am sure" my girls" are going to benefit from all this new found knowledge. I am still waiting for my hen that has been broody to start laying eggs again . must be patient.
Can someone tell me when ducks start laying eggs. I think I have a female duck (waiting on an answer how to tell). I know I have a male duck so maybe I wont get eggs however might get more ducks!!. will have to wait and see. Love my girls and they get the best of everything. Spoilt little ones.
